OptoTrack is a free tool built by an optometry applicant for other applicants. This page describes exactly what it stores and who can see it. It is written to be accurate rather than comprehensive — if something here does not match how the site behaves, the site is wrong and should be fixed.

If you never sign in, nothing about you is stored. The school data is public and requires no account.
If you create an account, we store:
- Your email address, so you can sign back in. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address and name from Google; we do not receive your Google password or gain access to your Google account.
- The schools you track, their status, and the dates you enter (applied, interviewed, accepted and so on).
- Your 1–5 ratings of schools and your weighting preferences.
- Any private notes you write.
Your tracker is private. Database-level security restricts every read and write of your rows to your own account.
The one exception is the Outcomes page, which pools admissions dates — never names, emails or notes — to show when interview invitations and offers actually went out. It only ever displays a school-and-cycle combination once at least 3 different people have reported that milestone, so no individual’s timeline can be isolated from it.
Your private notes are never pooled under any setting.
You can switch this off entirely. In your tracker, uncheck “Contribute my dates to the anonymous timelines” and your dates are excluded from every chart immediately.
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and aggregate. It records page views, referring sites, countries and device types. It does not use cookies, does not follow you across other websites, and does not identify individual visitors.
- Supabase — database and sign-in.
- Vercel — hosting and analytics.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, schools, OptomCAS, or ASCO. There are no advertising trackers on this site.
Go to your tracker and use Delete my account at the bottom of the page. This permanently removes your account, your tracked schools and dates, your ratings and your notes.
Dates you had already contributed to the anonymous pooled charts are deleted along with everything else, so the aggregate counts drop accordingly. The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You can also email the address below to request deletion.
Figures about schools come from ASCO, OptomCAS, and the schools’ own websites, and each value links to its source. Some values are marked unverified — these were compiled by a student and carry no citation. See Sources for the full provenance of every field.
OptoTrack is not affiliated with ASCO, OptomCAS, or any school of optometry. Confirm anything that matters directly with the school before relying on it.
